Sustainable Site Selection and Management
18 June from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
This course is a required course for those seeking the Green Building Professional accreditation
A 6 hours course to educate professionals on the importance of selecting a proper site for the purposes of constructing and operating green buildings. It is key to have a clear understanding of the implications of sustainable site selection and site management before starting project development or even before making land purchases. Internationally recognized green building rating tools favor those who are selecting and developing building sites with a focus on biodiversity value, environmental impacts, public transit availability, and other sustainable site management considerations. Investors need to have a clear understanding of the requirements of green buildings before they make their land purchases. While increasingly desired by investors, the internationally recognized green building rating tools (such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, etc.) penalize those who are developing building sites without regard to the biodiversity value and other ecological impacts, public transit availability, and other sustainable sitting and management considerations.
Trainer: Martin Dreiseitel, President & CEO of F&R Worldwide
Martin works with developers, community leaders, financial institutions and industry on sustainable site selection and site development.
